Baseball has never been sexier in an all-new novel by New York Times Bestselling Author, K. Bromberg.
Easton Wylder is baseball royalty. The game is his life. His passion. His everything.
So, when an injury threatens to end Easton’s season early, the team calls in renowned physical therapist, Doc Dalton, to oversee his recovery. Except it’s not Doc who greets Easton for his first session, but rather, his daughter, Scout. She may be feisty, athletic, defiant, and gorgeous, but Easton is left questioning whether she has what it takes to help him.
Scout Dalton’s out to prove a female can handle the pressure of running the physical therapy regimen of an MLB club. And that proof comes in the form of getting phenom Easton Wylder back on the field. But getting him healthy means being hands-on.
And with a man as irresistible as Easton, being hands-on can only lead to one thing, trouble. Because the more she touches him, the more she wants him, and she can’t want him. Not when it’s her job to maintain the club’s best interest, in regards to whether he’s ready to play.
But when sparks fly and fine lines are crossed, can they withstand the heat, or is one of them bound to get burned?
The Player is the first title in a new series and introduces us to the characters of Easton Wylder and Scout Dalton. A passionate, powerful, raw, and realistic sports romance, ridden with drama and angst.
K. Bromberg has an amazing ability to craft incredibly deep and complex characters who are strong, yet damaged and vulnerable.
Easton and Scout are both well written, complex and incredibly endearing characters. You feel compelled to see them find happiness and reach their goals. Easton is cocky, the son of a baseball legend.
Scout and Easton both know what it's like to live in the shadow of a parent. Easton's career and achievements, skill and luck is constantly compare to his father's. Whilst Scout's father is a renowned sports physio therapist and she is determined to prove her worth and skill in a male dominated field.
Their banter was fun and flirty and had me completely engaged and enthralled, particularly with Scout's sassy and witty dialogue and quick snappy comebacks.
Their chemistry is undeniable and incredibly strong and believable. Their story is full of push and full and they have to decide if taking a risk is worth the consequences of possibly loosing something they hold dear.
As I've come to expect from K. Bromberg The Player is full of surprises, twists and turns, and a plot that is both unique and original and had me guessing until the very end.
I adored Easton and Scout and found their story from the very first chapter. If you are like me and hate a cliffhanger, then you may be best to wait for the next installment in The Player series. I eagerly anticipate the sequel to The Player to discover what happens next.
