Out Of The Ashes - RC Boldt - Release Blitz & Review

Title: Out of the Ashes
Author: R.C. Boldt
Genre: Contemporary Military Romance
Release Date: May 9, 2017

Phoenix /fÄ“niks/: (in classical mythology) a unique bird inhabiting the Arabian Desert that burned itself on a funeral pyre before rising from the ashes with renewed youth to live through another cycle.

This isn’t mythology, it’s war, and Hendy is left in the hands of Hell’s cruelest gatekeepers.

His team is killed before his very eyes, and despite his efforts to save them, he’s captured and subjected to merciless torture—losing virtually every piece of his identity but his pulse.

After his rescue, he returns home from Afghanistan, saddled with facing the daunting task of healing his physical scars as well as the invisible ones—his emotional demons.

Dr. Presley Cole isn’t one to shy away from a challenge. Embarking on a new journey, she makes it her mission to prove to Hendy that his life isn’t over; that he’s worthy of love.

Because sometimes even a phoenix needs help to rise...

Out of the Ashes.

4.5 Stars

Out of the Ashes is Hendy and Presley's story.  It's quite an emotional story, heartbreaking at times and touching.  A beautifully written book, that revolves around the sensitive topic of PTSD, which is prevalent in today's society.  Ms Boldt has created a story of acceptance, understanding and love in a way that is a perfect blend of sensitivity, humor, heat and romance.

Presley is a healer, she's sweet, kind, caring and compassionate.  Hendy is your typical alpha SEAL, who struggles with the trauma associated with his time as a SEAL and the associated physical, psychological and emotional changes that have occurred.

A beautiful friends to lovers romance, that explores the strong themes of guilt, love, friendship, family and survival throughout Out of the Ashes.  Although this title can be read as a standalone, I would recommend reading Out of Love first as Hendy is first mentioned in the book, and the story line revolves around the same set of characters.

I highly recommend this tile, along with all the other titles that RC  Boldt has written and eagerly anticipate the next title in this series.
