Rescuing Kassie - Susan Stoker - Book Tour & Review

Rescuing Kassie (Delta Force Heroes Book 5)

by Susan Stoker

Date of Publication: May 16, 2017

Graham "Hollywood" Caverly feels the chemistry with Kassie Anderson in the emails they've been exchanging through a dating site. When they finally meet in person, and that online chemistry proves to have real-life sizzle, he knows she's the one. He couldn't be happier when their first date, at an annual Army Ball, goes better than he could have imagined. Until Kassie drops a bomb.

Kassie doesn't want to approach Hollywood on the dating site, but threats to her family leave her no other choice. She definitely doesn't want to fall for the man. But fall she does. Hard. After she admits the ruse—and after some understandable anger on both their parts—Kassie wonders if, in Hollywood's arms, a happy future is within her grasp.

But her past always finds her, and in Kassie's case, that's a dangerous proposition—because she's connected to an old enemy of Hollywood's Delta Force team. Very intimately connected… And it will take Hollywood, his Delta brothers, and even some outside help to do what should have been done the first time—eliminate the threat once and for all.

4 Stars

Rescuing Kassie, is the fifth title in the Delta Force Heroes series, and although it can be read as a standalone, you will get more from this book if you have read the previous title in the series.  There is a great deal of crossover of characters from the previous titles within the story line.

Rescuing Kassie is Hollywood and Kassie's story.  Hollywood is the alpha you would expect considering his role as a Delta Force operative.  He's also sexy, brave, loyal caring, loving, protective and faithful to a fault.

Kassie is a great heroine, strong, kind, caring and very loyal to those she cares for most, yet kind of damaged from interaction in her past.  She is smart and sassy and very down to earth.  She quite often has snappy, snarky, humorous one liners that I quite enjoyed.

This book is quite a slow burn romance, and is missing some of the heat and steaminess of the previous titles in this series.

There is an issue of both psychological and physical abuse that may be a trigger for some readers.

I thoroughly enjoyed the banter and interactions with the other Delta Force operative and their other halves were so prevalent in the story line.

As I've come to love from Ms Stoker's work this story is full of actions, suspense, and intrigue.

I would recommend Rescuing Kassie to anyone who has enjoyed the previous books in this series, or who enjoys a military romance or romantic suspense.
