Shield - Anne Malcom - Release Blitz & Review

Shield by Anne Malcom
Greenstone Security #2

My name’s Rosie and I come from a dynasty of sorts… the Sons of Templar, maybe you’ve heard of them.

I just happen to be the daughter of one of the founding members and am the sister of the current president.

The fact I’m a woman means I don’t wear the patch, but it’ll never change the fact that I'm a Templar by blood.

We're known as royalty in the outlaw world. Though, the dynasty is dancing on the right side of the law these days.

That doesn’t mean that the law and those who enforce it are friends.
It will remain the one constant in my tumultuous life. The one rule in our law-free existence.

Befriending the law and those that enforce it is a betrayal.

Which means me being one half of a doomed love is that much more comical when he’s a cop.

Or was.

Before I went and ruined it all.

Before he shattered that shield he wore to protect society in order to protect me.

He saved me and I damned him.

I damned myself too, but to be honest, I was damned long before that.

Shield is the second title in the Greenstone Security series, and for anyone who is familiar with the Sons of Templar MC series, Rosie and Luke’s story has been along time coming and it didn’t disappoint.

Rosie is an MC princess, raised in the lifestyle she’s independent, guarded, tough, stubborn, strong and can take care of herself, this heroine is no wilting wall flower.   She’s loyal to a fault, a fashionista to the core and incredibly feminine, despite her ability to kiss ass!  Whilst she’s incredibly fierce she’s also quite vulnerable and fragile.

Luke always strives to do the right thing, and in the process he’s incredibly protective, honest, patient and caring.  An alpha to the core, he’s intent to try and take charge, but has his hands full with Rosie.  Growing up with aspirations to follow his father into law enforcement, Luke’s ideals are intrinsically at odds with that of Rosie and her family.  There is no black and white when it comes to right and wrong, there is always shades of grey, something Luke has to accept in order to pursue a relationship with Rosie.

Their chemistry, connection, and attraction this pair share is intense, hot and passionate, and boy does Luke have a dirty mouth.  They are inexplicably drawn to each other their whole lives despite being representing opposite sides of the law.

At it’s core Shield is a slow burn romance, that flits between the past and the present, whilst being told in a dual point of view. It’s an emotional, angst fuelled, and darks story full of twists and turns that will keep you flipping the pages.  The intrigue, mystery and suspense, kept me completely enthralled from beginning to end.

I would highly recommend this title to anyone who enjoys a romantic suspense that is on the darker side with death, trauma and bloodshed or is a fan of Kristen Ashley’s books, as in my opinion Anne Malcom has a very similar writing style.

Anne Malcom has been an avid reader since before she can remember, her mother responsible for her book addiction. It started with magical journeys into the world of Hogwarts and Middle Earth, then as she grew up her reading tastes grew with her. Her obsession with books and romance novels in particular gave Anne the opportunity to find another passion, writing. Finding writing about alpha males and happily ever afters more fun than reading about them, Anne is not about to stop any time soon.
